Chinese Traditional Folk Embroidery Carp Motif was originally stitched between 1880-1920 in the Yunnan Province of China and appears on a wedding Valance with 4 other motifs. Original is currently at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
The carp carries the meaning of fertility because it lays many eggs.

The pattern measures 105h x 102w in one colour. It uses both cross stitch and backstitches.
